Xiaomi launches 48-inch 4K TV, smart shoes
NEW DELHI: Chinese devices maker Xiaomi has unveiled Mi TV2S, a 48-inch 4K television which is just 9.9mm thick and sports an aluminium frame. It comes in gold, blue, green, and pink colours. 

According to a report by GizmoChina, the TV's 10-bit panel can decode 4K video at 60Hz. It runs MIUI TV OS based on Android 5.0 Lollipop. 

The TV is powered by an Mstar 6A928 quad-core chip with 1.4GHz Cortex A17 cores. It has a Mali-T760MP4 GPU and 2GB of RAM with 8GB internal storage. In terms of connectivity options the TV supports Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11ac. The standard version of Xiaomi Mi TV2S will be sold at 2999 yuan (Rs 29,990) while the Cinema Edition costs 3999 yuan (Rs 39,990). It will go on sale starting July 28 in China. There's no word on global availability and pricing of the TV. 

Xiaomi has also launched its first smart shoes in partnership with Li-Ning, which is known for its shoes and sports equipment. The shoes will be available in two variants priced at 199 yuan (Rs 1990 approximately) and 399 yuan (Rs 3990 approx.).


As per a report by GizmoChina, the shoes come with a Bluetooth chip and a military grade motion sensor, and are waterproof, sweatproof and pressure-resistant. The shoes will enable wearers to track steps, distance and calories among other fitness tracking functions through a smartphone app. 

The built-in sensor will last more than a year as per the company. The shoes will go on sale starting July 20 in China.
