Samsung Galaxy S5 vs Oppo N3 – Best Prices, Top Specifications and Features

The Oppo N1 was significantly improved over the N1, but more buzz was created by Samsung when they released the Galaxy S5 with that weird perforated back. We’ll compare these devices based on internal specs, because this aspect is more important.
Displays and sizes
The Oppo N3 is more bulky and has matte plastic on its back and an aluminum frame, but what’s interesting about this device is the rotating camera that takes this smartphone to a new level. It features an O-Click 2.0 bluetooth remote control and a fingerprint sensor, and its display measures 5.5inches, being an IPS LCD with 1080×1920 pixels screen resolution, which gives a pixel density of 403ppi. This device weights 192grams and its dimensions are 161.2x77x9.9mm.
The Galaxy S5 has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on top of its display, a fingerprint sensor and water and dusts resistance. The display is Super AMOLED and measures 5.1 inches, with the same resolution of 1080×1920 pixels, but the pixel density was increased up to 432ppi. The S5 is 47grams lighter and its sizes are 142×72.5×8.1 mm.
Hardware and OS
The processors are both Krait 400 with four cores, but the clock speed differentiates the Galaxy S5 from the Oppo N3. So, S5’s processor is clocked at 2.5GHz and sits on a newer Qualcomm MSM8974AC Snapdragon 801 chipset, while the Oppo N3 is powered by a 2.3GHz processor based on a Qualcomm MSM8974AA Snapdragon 801 chipset. Otherwise, both flagships are using Adreno 330 graphics. While both devices run on Android v4.4.2 (KitKat) with 2GB of RAM, the difference lies in their specific UIs, because the N3 has Color OS 2.0 installed on top of the Android and Samsung uses TouchWiz. Both devices come with 32GB of internal storage and the S5 offers another variant of 16GB, but in both cases you’ll be allowed to increase the capacity up to 128GB with a microSD card.
Both phones are equipped with 16MP rear cameras, but Oppo has motorized rotating lenses (Schneider Kreuznach certified) and has features including dual-LED flash, autofocus or panorama etc. The Galaxy S5 provides phase detection autofocus, HDR, /2.6” sensor size, 1.12 µm pixel size etc. However, this model sports a secondary camera of 2MP, which can record videos at 1080p@30fps.
The Oppo N3 has a bigger battery of 3000mAh, with 200mAh more than Galaxy S5’s battery, and the great thing is that in the distant future, you’ll be able to replace them.
The Galaxy S5 costs between 600 and 650 dollars, while the Oppo N3 costs 649 dollars.
