2014 Ford Fiesta facelift launched at Rs 7.69 lakh

Ford has updated its Fiesta for 2014 giving it a more premium look and some added features. Here are the details...

2014 Ford Fiesta facelift

Ford has launched the facelift of its slow selling sedan, the Fiesta at Rs 7.69 lakh for the base Ambiente trim. The more expensive Trend and Titanium trims meanwhile are priced at Rs 8.55 lakh and Rs 9.29 lakh, respectively. The new 2014 Ford Fiesta which is only available with a diesel engine now, gets a new grille, sleeker head lamps, new bumpers and a new alloy wheel design.

Inside, Ford has spruced up the Fiesta’s interiors by using glass black plastic instead of matt silver finish and a lighter shade of beige for the seats and upholstery. For the top of the line Titanium trim, the Fiesta also gets keyless entry and start, airbags for the driver and front passenger, automatic headlamps and wipers and Ford’s latest multimedia system called SYNC. The Fiesta also sports AppLink, an extension of the SYNC interface which gets preinstalled apps to improve ownership experience.

2014 Ford Fiesta engine

As mentioned earlier, the new 2014 Ford Fiesta only comes with a diesel engine. The engine is a 1.5-litre, 4 cylinder unit that puts out 91PS of max power and a peak torque of 204Nm. The diesel engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The new Ford Fiesta will go up against the new Honda city and the Hyundai Verna, but Ford isn’t expecting the Fiesta to do volumes close to either cars and is positioning it a premium, niche offering in the C-segment.
