The frequent flyer's guide to grooming

Flying and jet lag can play havoc with the skin and pose multiple challenges.
Here's how to look as good at the point of arrival, as you did at the point of departure.
KEEP IT SMALL Liquid restrictions are the biggest disadvantage for a traveller, especially if he/she is high maintenance. If you wish to carry your expensive essentials without taking a chance of having to ditch them at the airport security, travel light. Grab a few empty, mini travel bottles and simply squirt just enough of your products into them.

PREP YOUR SKIN If you have dry skin, spend some time prepping it in advance. Apply a hydrating mask the night before or the t morning of the flight. This will increase moisture levels in the skin and help you combat dehydration while flying.
FLUID INTAKE IS A MUST Make sure you consume adequate water at regular intervals.
Keep the skin supple from within by avoiding dehydrating tea, coffee and alcohol. If you're bored with plain water, go for a cup of green tea instead of canned juice.

DON'T FORGET NIGHT-TIME CARE Many skin care experts have proved that the optimum time for skin repair is during the night when we're asleep. So, if you're travelling in the morning, apply a moisturiser just before hitting the sack.

REFRESH YOUR HAIR Dry shampoo is the new in thing and certainly of great use to both men and women. It instantly revitalises your hair and is especially good for those times when you have to head straight to an important meeting from the airport. Look out for a small (50 ml) bottle.

GRAB A POWER NAP Never fail to grab a power nap of at least 30 minutes. Losing sleep not only makes you look tired, it also plays havoc with your immune system. Sleep experts say that losing just three hours of sleep can lead to a 50 per cent drop in our immune response, which is bad for health.
