Sporty deos for active people

After an exhaustive workout session or game of squash, you are sure to smell pretty unfavourable!

If you exercise regularly or spend hours on the field playing your favourite sport, you need to choose a deodorant or antiperspirant that keeps your body odour and perspiration levels in check.

Instead of using your everyday deo, use an invigorating scent that will refresh you as well as provide the best odour protection.

Unlike regular deos, antiperspirants and clinical-strength deodorants contain ingredients that control sweat and body odour safely and effectively. They are readily available in the market as sprays (aerosol), sticks, creams and roll-ons.

How to choose the right formula
If you're going to the gym or taking a run, go for antiperspirants and deodorants la belled as `sport' or `clinical-strength'.

While both deodorants and antiperspirants target underarms and sweat, they do it in two very different ways. A deodorant combats actual sweat, whereas an antiperspirant works to prevent sweat. The former neutralises the smell of the sweat and does not interfere with sweating, which is a natural cooling process.

Antiperspirants work by clogging, closing, or blocking the pores with powerful astringents such as aluminium salts so that they can't release sweat. If you sweat a lot, antiperspirants are the better option; if you sweat less but have problems with odour, a deodorant is the best formula.
