Sony launches SmartBand SWR10 fitness tracker @ Rs 5,990


SmartBand SWR10 is a waterproof device and tracks wearers’ physical, social and entertainment activities.
NEW DELHI: Japanese manufacturer Sony has launched its SmartBand SWR10 fitness tracker in the Indian market, alongside the Xperia Z2 smartphone. The device will be available for Rs 5,990 in the country and will be available in the third week of May. 

SmartBand SWR10 is a waterproof device (despite the uncovered microUSB port) and tracks wearers' physical, social and entertainment activities. Data like number of steps taken during the day, sleep patterns, calorie intake are recorded by the device. It also wakes up the user when they have completed their usual sleep cycle. 

This smart band collects data about the music the user listened to, photos they captured, games they played and friends they communicated with to track their entertainment activities. It also works in conjunction with the Walkman app for Android to let users control music on their smartphones via their wrist-worn gadget. 

The fitness tracker does not have a display, but transfers all the activity and communication data via NFC and Bluetooth using the LifeLog app available on Google Play Store. When this app is active a smartphone, SmartBand SWR10 will vibrate to notify the user of any call or message they have received.
